Assistant Electrician

Position Functions:

Assist in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems, including lighting, power, and control systems.
Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and ensure timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
Support the installation and testing of new electrical equipment and systems.
Monitor the condition of electrical systems and report any potential issues to supervisors.
Perform routine inspections of electrical components to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with the Deck and Engineering teams to ensure seamless operations across departments.
Follow company protocols and safety guidelines during all maintenance activities.
Participate in safety drills and training sessions to stay updated on shipboard emergency procedures.
Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections as directed by supervisors.

Position Minimum Requirements:

Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring is required; formal training or certification is preferred.
Experience in electrical maintenance or repair is advantageous but not mandatory.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including confined spaces and at heights.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Fluency in conversational English with a team-oriented, proactive approach.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and maritime standards.
