Position Functions:

  • Operate and maintain the ship’s engines, boilers, and auxiliary machinery.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are followed during operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns and delays.
  • Respond promptly to machinery failures and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and machinery performance.
  • Collaborate with deck and operations teams to ensure seamless ship functions.
  • Train and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Stay updated on new technology and equipment to improve efficiency and safety.

Position Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in marine engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a marine engineer or in a similar technical role onboard a ship.
  • In-depth knowledge of ship systems, including engines, pumps, and electrical components.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in maritime operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
